Streaming success isn’t just about how your song performs on release day—it starts way before that. Pre-save campaigns help you build momentum by allowing fans to save your track before it drops, which can boost your Spotify algorithm performance and signal early demand to platforms and playlists.

There are several tools that allow you to create a pre-save link:

  • ToneDen – Free and premium options with automation and analytics.
  • Hypeddit – Allows fan gate downloads and pre-saves in one.
  • DistroKid (via HyperFollow) – Automatically generates a free pre-save link for releases.
Choose the one that fits your workflow and integrates with your distributor.

Create your pre-save campaign at least 2–3 weeks before your release date. This gives you enough time to:

  • Promote the link on socials
  • Embed it on your website or smart link page
  • Build anticipation with fan reminders
Be sure the link includes your cover art and consistent branding.

The copy you use matters. Avoid boring or generic CTAs. Instead, say things like:

  • "Be the first to hear it—save it now!"
  • "Drop day is coming. Pre-save and get early access!"
  • "This one’s for you. Hit that pre-save."
Pair your CTAs with visual assets or short teaser videos to boost clicks.

You can’t just drop a link and hope. Build a mini-campaign around it:

  • Post reminders every 2–3 days in Stories and Reels
  • Email your list with a short personal message + link
  • Use Instagram countdown stickers to generate urgency
  • Reward early pre-savers with shoutouts or exclusive content
Tools like Buffer and Later make scheduling easy.

Most platforms offer analytics—use them! Check click-through rates, conversion %, and referral sources. If you notice Instagram doing better than email, adjust your focus.

Bonus Tip:
If you’re releasing multiple singles, reuse and customize your pre-save assets to save time.

“Pre-saves aren’t hype—they’re strategy.”
